Trips by church boat


In lakeland Finland boats have traditionally been more important means of transport than horse-drawn carts. Covering the water in a group is always more pleasant than doing it alone, so the boats used to cross large expanses of open water to get to church often held as many as 20 people. Our trips by church boat are made using boats equipped with 7 pairs of oars on Lake Puulavesi, or at an additional charge (to cover transporting the boat) anywhere at all.

1.
Two hours in a church boat provides a good introduction to handling the oars and the joys of moving at speed.
The price 16 € per person includes the assistance of a guide, whose main task is to keep the boat in stroke.

A day trip lets you enjoy both the rowing and the beautiful lake scenery to the full. We take a break as and when necessary and enjoy a picnic lunch on the lake shore. Duration approximately 8 hours.
Price 49 € per person, including guide, refreshments and lunch.

Lake Puulavesi is sufficiently long that going to church may occasionally take two whole days with an overnight halt on an island. On this two day trip there´s fine opportunity to experience the natural beauty of the lake by day and by night. Accommodation during the trip is in simple tents.
Price 129 € per person, including guide and all meals (lunch, dinner, breakfast) as well as camping equipment.

The starting point for excursions is Holiday Village Puulan Muikku, Kangasniemi, which is also the location of the Puula Canoeing Centre, but when necessary customers can be picked up from any point at extra charge. We reserve the right to change the itinerary of the excursions should the weather or safety of our customers so require. The excursions described here are only examples of the options we offer. All excursions can be adapted according to need.
