Whole the family to the Naarajoki trail
A week-long canoeing adventure on Naarajoki River, and Lakes Kyyvesi and Puulavesi, is just the thing for the family who thrives on canoeing, and why not also for those who are just beginners. The daily stretches are reasonable, with plenty of time left to enjoy the surrounding nature. You can bed down in tents, outbuildings or cabins. You can do a trip like this any time you please, either by kayak or by canoe. Here is an example of a do-it-yourself trip.
Day
1
Arrive
at Puula Canoeing Centre, get to know the route to be taken, choose your
equipment. Accommodation in tents, outbuildings or cabins.
Day 2
In the morning, transport to starting point of canoe trip, 45 kms and some 35
min away. Canoe trip to Etelä-Aapeli, along some 22 kms of a narrow,
winding river. Accommodation in outbuildings or tents. You can also have a
sauna bath.Day

3
Paddle
along river increasing slightly in width and along small lakes, past the
old Porsaskoski mill and the Nykälä rapids to Pitkäniemi jutting into
Lake Kyyvesi, a trip of some 23 kms. Accommodation in outbuildings or
tents. You can also have a sauna.
Day 4
The trip continues over the waters of Kyyvesi, a lake abounding in islands,
towards the little town of Haukivuori. Camping in tents in the Kerolahti
camping ground, 19 kms away. From Kerolahti it is possible to take a hike
along a nature trail. Accommodation available in Marjoniemi Holiday
Village in the village adjoining Haukivuori railway station.
Day 5
Across
Lake Kyyvesi to Luusniemi, some 25 kms away. Camping in the camping ground
there. There is a shop 400 metres away, so it will not be difficult to
stock up.
Day 6
Across
Lake Rauhajärvi and the Läsänkoski Rapids to Puula. Camping on
Likoniemi camping grounds. Day's distance covered: some 24 kms.
Day 7
After
a canoeing trip of 19 kms, the day finishes at the Puula Canoeing Centre
in Kangasniemi.

of canoes and equipment from the Canoeing Centre to Lake Naarajärvi 49
€ / 1-6 persons. For those desiring indoor accommodation, this may be
reserved in advance. Canoe and kayak hire according to our tariffs.
